Prayer Shawl

My dear friend and leader of our local homeschool group went through breast cancer surgery today. It was a total shock for her and I understand how she feels. Your whole life starts to revolve around the fact that you have cancer. I wanted her to know that I was praying for her and was thinking of her even when I wasn't able to be with her so I made her this

I made this using Lion Brand Homespun Yarn in the Boston Rose color (pink is her favorite color) and got the pattern here. It is SO soft and comforting and she loved it when I gave it to her. I actually made it while sitting in the hospital with my hubby this past week. Please keep Tricia in your prayers as she goes through all that she has to go through to eradicate this cancer.

Hubby is going to start some physical therapy tomorrow for his pain! Hallelujah! We are hoping this will start to reduce the pain he is having. It was a struggle to get our doctor to do anything, but after many phone calls and insistence on my part, he finally agreed to this. If there is something horribly wrong with that nerve in his arm, I'm sure they will catch it with the physical therapy and we can finally get something done with it.

Today we had a fun time at the bible study. Our last study of the book was last week, so this week we just sat around and ate all the food we all brought. We ate so much sugar, I'll be surprised if any of us really sleeps tonight! Of course, some of them could have been like me and came home afterward and went into a sugar coma and took a 2 hour nap! I don't think it was the sugar nearly as much as just my body still recovering from the stress that we all went through with my hubby being in the hospital - and continue to go through with his pain. Honestly, I'm exhausted. I feel I have no more strength mentally or physically. I know this feeling will pass, but it's difficult when I'm right in the middle of it. I've been a little very uptight the past few days, too, from feeling so tired and overwhelmed. I'll be glad when I'm feeling better - as I'm sure my family will, too! *LOL*

God bless you ~ Julie
