Last week, my son's friend returned from Marine Boot Camp for a small leave. He graduated and is now a Marine!! We are SO proud of him as we know it wasn't easy, but he was determined to make it and he did!
Here's a picture of Judah in his uniform.
If you've been reading my blog for awhile, you know that Judah and my son are good friends and have known each other since 2nd grade. They are like brothers - in fact, they are, in Christ as they both love and follow Jesus.
It was amazing to me how much both my son and Judah changed in the few months he was away. They are both more mature and becoming the men God wants them to be.
All of Judah's hair was shaved off when he got there. He said that was hard. He has beautiful, blonde hair, but he carries this look well.
Here he is with me. We were all getting ready to go to church and it was a good time to get some nice pictures of all of us. Looking at this picture, though, I'm thinking black is not a good color for me, but I digress. . . . I had promised him when he came back that I would make him fudge. That's his absolute favorite thing. I made a big pan which we all snacked on while we he here, but then I put away about 20 pieces for him to take back with him when he left. I'm sure he snacked on that all the way back to base. :)
We are so proud of Judah. We are so thankful that he has chosen to serve our country. We hope that we will get to see him soon, but now he has his cell phone so it will be easier for him to keep in touch with my son. I also told him I would send him more fudge when I get his new address. That made this Marine pretty happy.
If you think of it, would you keep Judah and all our armed forces in prayer? They deserve our prayers and our thanks.
God bless you - Julie

Yes ma'am, I'll pray for Judah as I pray for all our soldiers all over the world.

What a handsome man in his uniform! Proud that he's persevered through boot camp. Yes, we'll pray.
