Everything Beautiful In It's Time

"He has made everything beautiful in it's time"  Ecclesiastes 3:11

Fall has finally arrived!  We had so much hot weather, I was fearing that the cool, crispness of Autumn would never arrive, however, it has come and with a bang!  We had four - yes four- tornadoes in the northern part of our state that wreaked havoc and destruction.  Thank the good Lord, no one was killed, however, people have had their homes destroyed and their lives turned upside down.  We had tornado warnings for our area, too, but thankfully, none materialized.  We did have horribly high winds and torrential rains and hail.  Summer left us in a wild rush and now, I believe, Fall is here to stay for awhile.

In our Bible study, we are studying the Disciple John.  This is a study by Beth Moore and I am learning so much.  The way the study is done, we are made to really approach God's Word as if they are actually there with the disciples and Jesus.  Oh, my.  It has opened my eyes to the Word of God in a fresh new way and helps me to see the deep love the Lord has for us, anew.  It has been a very humbling experience to be a leader for the study. The Lord has grown me so much and blessed me with a wonderful group of ladies.  I always come away from the study in awe of the growth the Lord is doing in all of us.

I am also doing another Bible study about our speech.  What we say, how we say it, and how powerful our speech is.  Again, the Lord is really growing me through this.  The Lord knows that I need growth in this area and my eyes have really been opened to watching what I say.  As our heart is - so our mouth speaks.  That is very convicting to me and I'm trying to keep my heart focused on Jesus so that my tongue will only speak those things which edify.

We recently celebrated my husband's birthday.  I don't think he was exactly thrilled with this one as he turned 65.  He did have a wonderful day, though, and enjoyed everything.  I'm always happy to celebrate another birthday with him.

I'm watching one of my all-time favorite movies this evening, "Pride and Prejudice". Everything about this movie touches my heart - the story, the scenery, the beautiful costumes and, most of all, the music.  Oh, the music is most wonderful.  I have the CD and I can listen to it over and over again.  I highly recommend this movie - it touches one's heart most deeply.

It is late and I must be off to bed.  I'm struggling with horrible pain in my back again and am praying that tomorrow the pain will be lessened.  God willing, I will be able to get out of my recliner and away from the heating pad for awhile.

God bless you - Julie

  1. I think this weather is the cause of my backache. When the storms hit on Tuesday, and all that dampness arrived with it, my back hurt so bad I wanted to cry. And to make matters worse, I forgot to put on my lidicaine patch. (Forgot it again today!)

Are you in AZ? We had four tornados in the northern part of AZ on Tuesday. Hail the size of baseballs, lots of damage all over the place. I posted some pics on my blog.

Hope you feel better. And don't you love Beth Moore? She is one of my favorite Christian writers!

    Hugs,

    Sue
