"How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them!" Psalms 139:17
"Read the Bible in a common-sense way. Do not read it on your knees, as I have known some people do, it is an awkward posture: get into an easy chair: read it comfortably. Pray after you have read it as much as you like, but do not make a penance of what ought to be a pleasure." - Charles Spurgeon
Reading the Word of God really is a pleasure. I can remember when I wasn't a Christian (in the truest sense of the word), I would read the Bible and just be completely confused by it's meaning. All the words would jumble together and I just didn't understand. Once I really committed my life to Jesus, however, the Word of God opened up to me and the Words penetrated my heart and soul. I love to read the Bible now and, like Spurgeon, read it comfortably in my favorite easy chair.
I don't have a lot of news. I'm still struggling with back pain but it's a wee bit better tonight. I'm still just as stiff as a board and in constant pain, but I'm hopeful that I'll be better soon.
This week we are taking a break from the ladies Bible study. I'm feeling like that's a blessing as I'm not sure I'll be feeling well enough by Tuesday. God always knows what we need and provides - even if it's to take a little break. I feel so thankful that I can spend this week really studying while having this back problem but I don't have to go out. Like I said, God provides what we need.
The rains have stopped and the weather is gorgeous. It's cool and crisp out, but not too cold to sleep with a window cracked open. It's lovely and I adore this time of year.
Have a blessed Sunday!
God bless you - Julie
I hope you have a great week!
