I may be one of the few Christians in this world who has never read "Desiring God" so when I got this opportunity to review this DVD and study book, I jumped at it. I am so glad I did.
John Piper immediately catches your attention by just being so real. He doesn't sugar coat things or give you a bunch of hype. He gets right down to the important thing...being closer to and knowing God! God who He is - not some figment of our imagination.
The first thing he talks about is Christian hedonism. I had heard this term before, but I really had no idea what it meant. I have heard so many of the "rules" he talks about in the Christian community, but he points out that what Jesus says is to be taken literally. It is truly eye-opening...so simple but so true.
By the time I was done with this DVD and study book, I really did have such a great desire and love for God! This book will open your eyes and your heart to more of the Lord...it will make you think about your relationship with Him and give you a desire for more of God in your life.
