Counting Our Blessings - Link Up!

It's the week of being thankful and counting our blessings. I'm sure like some of you, I've had some tough days of just focusing on my blessings instead of my lacks. There are times when it's hard not to focus on the lacks in our life or the hardships of our life, but God tells us that we need to focus on our blessings. Jesus said in Matthew 6:25-34
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?  Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?  Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.  Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.  If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?  So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’  For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.  But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.  Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
How true this is! The Lord has always taken care of me and my family and I know that He will continue to do so!

81.  I'm so thankful for the free turkey I got at Albertsons! They had a promotion a couple of weeks ago that if you spent $100.00, you got a free turkey! It's so easy to spend $100.00 these days for groceries and it was so nice to receive this turkey! Total blessing!

82. The next blessing I'm counting is my bed. Silly? Not for me. After 2 years of sleeping in a recliner, to have a wonderful bed to sleep in is an amazing blessing! I haven't been feeling well for a few days and to be able to cuddle up in bed with my quilts just makes me feel better. I truly love my bed! Mostly, I'm thankful to the Lord that I can now sleep in bed!

83.  I had time to go to my studio twice last week and I was so blessed by my time spent there. My goal is to start going to my studio at least five days a week, as I used to, but until that happens, I'm blessed by the time I have been able to spend time in my artistic endevors again.

84. The Word of God has blesses me so much. When I'm confused, feeling down, or just want to feel closer to the Lord, the Bible is there for me. It's like touching the hem of His garmet for me. Once read, pondered over, and understood, there is nothing that will bring you closer to Jesus, besides prayer. I'm so thankful I have the freedom to read my Bible and grow closer to the Lord!

85.  I'm thankful that no matter what is going on around me, in this country, in this world, that I know that the One who holds the stars in His hands is really in control. All things have passed through His hands before they occured on this earth and He has it all under His authority. I can be restful about it all because He loves us and has a plan for each of us. That is a huge blessing!
