I decided the day before my birthday that I would make cheese enchiladas and put them in the fridge for the next day. I didn't want to cook on my birthday, but I wanted to have a nice meal that everyone would enjoy. I stopped at the store and got the ingredients to make them and, while I was there, I bought my birthday cake! I figured why not just pick it out myself and save everyone a trip to the store. Here's me with said cake.
Pretty, huh? The cake, not me (like I needed to say that). Anyway, I made the enchiladas, and a nice green salad. It was really nice to just pop the enchiladas in the oven and pull out the salad the next day. I must remember to do this next year.
I did take my yorkie to the groomer on my birthday as she was in dire need of a grooming. Here she is with her way too short haircut.
and one with her normal, sweet little brown eyes. Her haircut is way shorter than I would have liked, but, oh well. She has been wearing a sweater most days as it's so cold here.
Other than taking Holly out, I stayed home and relaxed with the family. We watched the "Peanuts Christmas" show and then some movies. I crocheted and worked on my cross stitch. Then my family surprised me with this
Is that not the most adorable thing? I didn't even know they made a Peanuts Nativity set. So, so cute! It will be going on my coffee table so we can see it all the time.
Then I received these things
I have been wanting the new "Burn Notice-Season 5" since it came out but could never find it anywhere. This is a testiment to how good this show is. Anyway, my son found it and got it for me for my birthday. Then I received the new Chris Tomlin Christmas CD. This is a most excellent Christmas CD. I've listened to it several times already.
Here is a picture of my son with our Pug, Muffy Marie. Isn't she adorable? Isn't he adorable?
and here's a picture of Muffy Marie with Holly
There's those wierd looking eyes again...I wish the flash wouldn't do that to their eyes. Oh well. Muffy was checking Holly out after she came back from the groomer. All the dogs do this when one of them comes home from the groomer. Lots of sniffing and checking the groomed one out. Jealousy? Perhaps. LOL
I had such a great birthday and I'm so grateful that I was able to spend the day with my family, quietly enjoying each other. I am blessed.
God bless you - Julie

Happy belated birthday! Your cake (and you) are beautiful! And your dog's haircut will at least last a little longer than usual. :-)
