Birthday Celebration

We celebrated my oldest son's birthday yesterday. His birthday was actually a few days ago, but he had to work, so he chose to celebrate another day. We had such a nice day! Very relaxed and enjoyable. Here's some pictures from our day.

First thing I did was make 7 layer bean dip. It's one of my son's favorites and I wanted to have it ready for him to snack on.

Everything he received was about Firefighting. His passion. He was thrilled.

Isn't this the most beautiful cake you've ever seen? I was so impressed with it until...our first bite. I ordered a chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream frosting. I don't know what kind of frosting they used, but it was bitter (like licking pure cocoa out of the can) and so thick it was horrible. I called the bakery and they couldn't find the order so we returned it to the store for a refund. I then went to another store and got him another cake. It was a huge disappointment to order a specific cake to only have it taste so horrible. Other than the cake, my son had a really nice day.

Now we prepare for my other son's birthday tomorrow! It will be another fun-filled day!
