Book Review - Rosemary Cottage

ABOUT THE BOOK:

Amy came to Rosemary Cottage to grieve, to heal, maybe even find love. But there's a deadly undertow of secrets around Hope Island . . .

The charming Rosemary Cottage on the beach offers Amy Lange respite she needs to mourn her brother, Ben. She's even thinking of moving her midwife practice to the Outer Banks community. It's always been a refuge for her and her family. She also wants to investigate Ben's disappearance at sea. Everyone blames a surfing accident, but Amy has reason to wonder.

Coast Guard officer Curtis Ireland has lost a sibling too. His sister, Gina, was run down by a boat, leaving him to raise her infant daughter. If anyone knew who little Raine's father was, Curtis could lose his beloved niece. Yet he can't help being drawn to Hope Beach's new midwife, Amy. He even agrees to help her investigate what happened to both Ben and Gina.

Can two grieving people with secrets find healing on beautiful Hope Island? Or will their quest for truth set them at odds with each other . . . and with those who will go to any length to keep hidden things hidden?

MY REVIEW:

The book starts right off with a death that's not accidental but deliberate. It brings us right into the story because the victim is a single mom with a baby who is on the beach with her brother, Craig. There is a sadness about this that makes us emotionally invested in the story immediately.

We then meet Amy, whose brother died in a swimming accident in the same area. Amy is coming to Rosemary Cottage, where she usually meets her brother, to try and heal and understand what happened to him. She is propelled by this because of an email she received implying that her brother's death was not an accident.

These situations bring Amy and Craig together with both trying to find out what happened to their siblings. This begins a lovely relationship between them. It was interesting how Craig had a preconceived idea about Amy yet came to realize he was wrong. How many times do we do this in our own lives about people before we really know them?

The mystery of the novel is nail-biting! Do not start reading this book before bed or you may not go to sleep because it's a real page turner and hard to put down! The twists and turns of this book keep you on the edge of your seat and the surprise ending will be just shocking to you! Very excellent writing and amazing story that I highly recommend!
