Book Review - A Miracle of Hope

ABOUT THE BOOK:

Lindie Wyse is pregnant out of wedlock and thinks an arranged marriage is the only way to preserve her future. Josiah Plank is certain he'll never love again, but he needs someone to care for his eight-year-old daughter, Hannah. The two take on their arrangement tentatively at first but soon realize they are each in for more than they imagined.

Lindie experiences a breakthrough with Hannah when she recognizes Hannah's special gifts, but a risky pregnancy and serious health issues threaten to demolish the foundation Josiah and Lindie are building. Will their growing love survive despite their struggles, or will their hearts become as cold as the northern winter?

MY REVIEW:

This book starts out rather sad and I immediately just loved Lindie. Her perdicament  is one none of us would want to go through but I love her spirit and how she tries so hard to have a good attitude about her situation. Lindie is shunned by her home community and to help her, her brother arranges for her to marry his good friend, Joshiah, who has lost his wife and is not looking to love anyone again, but needs a wife to care for his home and his child, Hannah.

I loved the relationship between Lindie and Hannah. Lindie can identify with Hannah's hurts and encourages her in the things that bring her our of her shell.

As the truth of Lindie's situation comes to light, we see Josiah also opening up more and there is great compassion between the two of them. They realize that through their hurts, they can learn to love again and it's a beautiful love story.

There are lots of twists and turns in this book - some of which I never saw coming - and I always love that. I don't like a book that is predictable and this one certainly wasn't for me. I loved the story of grace, faith, and love and how God is able to redeem that which is hurt and broken.

I highly recommend this book. It was hard to put down and I just loved the characters. I think you will love it, too!
