Counting Our Blessings - Link Up!

It's been nearly 2 months since my last "Counting Our Blessings" link up. If you remember, I was preparing for my surgery at the time and, since then, I've been recovering from what turned out to be rather a nightmare for me. However, God is so good and I have been so incredibly blessed by Him during this time of recovery!

15. I am SO blessed to be alive! When the surgeon cut my artery during the knee replacement surgery, so many things could have gone wrong. I know that the hand of the Lord was on me the whole time and He got me to the right vascular surgeon (the best in my state!) and the right hospital. How can I express my thankfulness that the Lord allowed me to have more time with my family here on earth? Yes, I know where I would be right now if I had died, but I'm so thankful that the Lord allowed me to live to see my sons get married and have children (some day) and to spend more time with my wonderful husband. I am blessed!

16. I am so thankful for the care that my husband has given me. When something like this happens, you don't realize how many things you won't be able to do for yourself. I have to have someone drive me everywhere and my husband has done that constantly. He tucks me in bed at night because I have to have help still. He never complains and never acts exasperated. He does it all with a smile and a loving touch and I am so blessed by him!

17.  My church family has blessed me so much! The provided meals to my family for over 2 weeks after I got home and came to visit me. I have been sent cards, flowers, and so many beautiful emails and text messages. To know that you are cared for and loved by your friends and church family is a really beautiful thing and such a blessing! They truly were the hands and feet of Jesus for us in so many ways!

18.  I am so blessed to be home! I have always been a home-body, but after being in the hospital for so long, to come home to my beautiful home and look out my windows at my gorgeous view blessed me more than I can even express. I thank God every time I come home from one of the endless doctor or physical therapy appointments that I am home.

19.  I am very thankful that Holly is doing so well. She will be going in for her check-up on Friday and I'm praying that they have good news for me regarding the biopsy. She seems to be doing very well and is very frisky, so I'm very hopeful that she will be doing good for a long while.

So what are your blessings? Link up below and share your own!

Blessings - Julie

  1. Bless your dear heart! I had no idea you were going through so much. So very thankful to God for sparing your life and bringing you through. I guess you and I both have a lot to praise Him for. I have been ill since December 26th, 2013. It has been a very long, hard winter, but spring is coming, and with it, I trust and believe God for much better days! If it weren't for Him, neither your nor I would still be here to communicate and try to encourage one another. God bless you with a full and speedy recovery. Love, Cheryl
