I have bought many colored pencil how-to books throughout the years, but I must say this is the very best book I've ever read! It is packed full of information on how to use Wax-Based and Water-Based pencils. I found this to be so helpful in understanding how to use my different types of pencils.
I also love how the author explains the different types of of papers and other supplies you use as you work with this wonderful medium. She writes and explains things so well, it was very easy for me to pick up my pencils and follow the instructions and create my own works of art.
A really wonderful thing about this book is in the back she has an appendix of different brands of colored pencils and she has created a color chart for them all! This is so amazing and helpful! It really opened my eyes to all the different brands of pencils and has made me want to branch out to try them all!
I just can't say enough wonderful things about this book. It is so easy to understand, with step-by-step pictures and instructions and it has made my own art more understandable and better. If you are a colored pencil artist or you'd like to try this medium, definitely add this to your library! You won't be sorry as it truly is the best book on this medium I've ever read. I give it 5 out of 5 stars!!
