Psalm 2

Psalm 2 is full of reminders that God is in control. I love verses 4-6 where he reminds us that He chooses who the King (or President) is and then laughs when we are arrogant enough to think that we know best. Everything in God's world is to one end and that is for Jesus to return to rule and reign. We can look around our own country and see that God orchestrates who He wants in office despite what we may want. This Scripture reminds me to have peace and remember that God is in control and is working everything to the glorious return of Christ.

Verse 11 reminds us to serve the Lord with reverence and awe. Sometimes I have the unfortunate ability to try and bring God down to my own level. Do you ever find yourself doing this? I highlighted this Scripture to remind myself that God is to be feared and that He is God and I am not. He is way, way above me in all ways and I want to always be reverent of Him!

Finally, in verse 12, we are reminded again, as we were in Psalm 1, that those who take refuge in Him are happy. God brings us true joy that nothing else can give us!

I hope you're enjoying going through the Psalms with me. I am gaining so much from just meditating on each chapter slowly. Letting it sink into my heart and mind. It is truly a blessing to my soul!
