Book Review and Giveaway - Starving Hearts

ABOUT THE BOOK:

Since her assault, Miss Annette Chetwynd has been plagued by nightmares and worries about an arranged marriage.

She yearns to find her anonymous rescuer. Unfortunately, her health and intellect prevent it. Both repel suitors and cause Annette to doubt God's existence, at least until He answers her prayers in an unusual way. . . .

Mr. Peter Adsley is joining the clergy, and he desires a godly wife by his side. After a failed attempt to obtain one, he engages in a clandestine meeting with the bewitching young woman who keeps crossing his path. But she is so unsettling.

Destined for disappointments, Peter and Annette both endure disgraceful situations. Will Peter's faith sustain him through overwhelming setbacks? Can Annette overcome her doubts? Or will their starving hearts yield to the machinations of a mad man?

MY REVIEW:

This is a wonderful book that really drew me in didn't let go. This is the first book of a trilogy so it was fun to read the first book and I'm definitely looking forward to the next two books!

I really love the characters of Annette and Peter and I was cheering them to get together throughout the book, however, there are so many roadblocks, twists and turns keeping them apart, it really holds one's attention. Just when you think things are going to work out for them something happens to keep them apart.

There is a really unlikable and dastardly fellow that keeps things interesting! Although I didn't like the character of Steven, he definitely brings a lot of action to the book! There is a lot for all the characters to recover from or to forgive and I loved how they grew in each of these areas.

There is a lot of intrigue to this book and it reminded me of a Jane Austen novel. It was wonderfully described historically and you really feel like you are a part of the whole story. I loved this book and give it 5 out of 5 stars!
