Book Review - Finding God's Blessings in Brokenness by Charles Stanley

MY REVIEW:

This hardcover book is rather small at 152 pages but it is packed with wisdom and blessings galore.

Dr. Stanley is such a wonderful teacher of God's Word and he has put together the most beautiful Scriptures to encourage us as we go through times of brokenness and pain.

He asks us if we are willing to surrender anything to God to allow Him to bring about His purpose for our life. Although the process can be painful and difficult, in the end it is good. Dr. Stanley shows us how we can surrender all to God and have peace about it.

This little book is packed with Biblical wisdom written in a way that is easily understood and applied to our life. There is one page where Dr. Stanley asks these questions. For me, these fully encapsulated what this book is about. These questions are as follows:

What is happening in the spiritual area of my life?

 

What might God want to do in my relationship with Him?

 

How might God work in this time of brokenness to restore me, renew me, remake me and remold my relationship with Him?

 

How might God work in and through these circumstances to bring me to greater wholeness?

 

This book helps us to answer these questions for our life and bring us to a great joy through our brokenness. 

 

This book has a beautiful message but, the book itself, is gorgeous. It is filled with the beautiful photography of Dr. Stanley. Page after page of amazing photographs of God's creation to inspire you and bring you a sense of peace. I loved just looking at all the photos because they are so amazing and beautiful. They perfectly match the message of this book!

 

This is such an encouraging book and I've really enjoyed it. It would make a wonderful gift to someone in the hospital, suffering from illness or any other issues that brings about the feeling of brokenness in our lives.

 

I love this book and have gone through it several times. Re-reading the encouraging message of God's peace and purpose and enjoying the beautiful photographs. I highly recommend this book and give it 5 out of 5 stars.
