Haley knows how to take care of herself; after all, she's made a career out of taking care of others. But after she has an uncomfortably close call, Detective Steven Rothwell takes it upon himself to stay with her--and the young client she has taken under her wing. A protector at heart, he's not about to let Haley fight this battle alone.

MY REVIEW:

I have really enjoyed the Elite Guardians series and this is book four of the series. You don't need to have read the previous books but I highly recommend you do because you'll enjoy them!

In this book, the focus is on Haley, one of the Elite Guardians. She has her life turned upside down by the past, she wasn't even aware of, catching up to her. She is from Ireland, and while she had strange memories as a child, her mother told her these were dreams. Unfortunately, they weren't.

We are introduced to the Burke family of Ireland and the events that left their family devastated. Haley is also seeing where she fits into this family and, when her life is threatened, she's not sure if it's because of something to do with them or one of the cases she's working on.

Steven Rothwell is a new detective with the police department and his partner is one of the Elite Guardians so he is introduced to Haley early on in the book. I really like the relationship between these two and how he is protective of her but also lets her be who she is.

The mystery had until the very end when the revelation of who was behind all the attacks was revealed and, I have to say, I didn't see it coming! I was totally surprised at who the culprit was and that made the book that much more enjoyable because I hadn't figured out who was behind everything

If you enjoy a good mystery with strong characters and a great storyline, you'll really enjoy Chasing Secrets! I highly recommend it and give it 5 out of 5 stars.
