Merry Christmas

The presents are under the tree, the ham is in the fridge ready to be prepared tomorrow along with cheesy potatoes, baked beans, green beans, and pumpkin pie. We are having a very low-key Christmas tomorrow and I'm really looking forward to it.

Today, we had pancakes and then I made cinnamon rolls for tomorrow's breakfast. We also had cheese and artichoke dip with pita chips and crackers. Very simple, but we all like that kind of thing and it's treat once a year.

I woke up this morning with my diverticulitis acting up. I couldn't believe it and imagined myself sitting for hours in the emergency room because I figured that I wouldn't be able to get a hold of my doctor, let alone get into my doctor. I went ahead and called his office, though, and they told me to come right in because they were closing at noon, but they would see me and help me. Praise the Lord! This is a new doctor and so far I'm so pleased with him. He's kind and so is his office staff. I went to see him and he prescribed the pills to help me feel better. I'm hoping I wake up feeling much better for Christmas. I'm very thankful I didn't have to sit in an emergency waiting room!!

I have a new baby. No, not a human baby, but a new fur baby. Here's her picture.

She's just adorable. She will be going to the groomer next week and I'll post another picture of her. So far, she's fitting right in with all the other dogs and is doing great. She does have one thing that I've never seen before - she's obsessed with her rubber squeaky toy! I got her a toy the other day and she has been crazy about it ever since. Not the fuzzy toy but the rubber toy. She brings it to me to throw and throw and throw. She did it for 2 hours straight one evening. She cries and carries on if we don't throw it and if I put it up, she goes crazy and whines and tries to find it. I've decided it's not a good thing and am not going to give her this toy for a while until I figure out why she's so obsessed. Any thoughts or opinions on this would be greatly appreciated!
I've never seen anything like it!

I've been painting a little bit and working on some sewing projects. I've also crocheted some Christmas gifts. I haven't done as much as I'd like, though, and in the new year, I am planning on getting back into all this full time. I miss it and I think it's wrong not to do something with the talents and gifts the Lord has given me.

I'm looking forward to our relaxing Christmas with my sweet family. We'll probably watch White Christmas, The Christmas Story and all those other wonderful movies and shows, over and over. What can be better than that?

Merry Christmas, to one and all. I pray that you'll have a wonderful and blessed Christmas!

God bless you - Julie

  1. We're going to Jessica's place to open gifts with her and Emmy and some of my sisters, then having fried ham sandwiches and roast turkey for lunch. No idea what else Jessica's making other than a homemade cheesecake for dessert. It's enough just to be able to be together, isn't it?

Merry CHRISTmas, dear friend. May all God's Christmas blessings be yours now and throughout the coming New Year, sweet Julie.

    Love and big Christmas hugs,
