Two weeks and still not well...

It's been a tough two weeks of sickness and I'm still not completely well.  My boys are not completely well, either, and whatever this sickness is, it's a bad one.  I completed the antibiotics and I am breathing better, but I'm still coughing and very, very tired.  I sleep for 10 hours and sometimes 12 hours a night and wake up feeling like I didn't sleep at all.  My boys are saying the same thing.  I'm so glad that they had Spring break last week so it would give them a chance to sleep and get better before school started up again.  I just hope we get over this soon.  I've had many friends and family who have had this, though, and they tell me it really hangs on - however - the good news is it does finally go away! =D

My husband is doing well with his radiation treatments and we are very much thanking God that he hasn't gotten this illness.  He has been so kind to us during the past two weeks - getting us meals, making sure we had the medicines we need, and all that.  My goodness, I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband who is so giving and takes care of his family.  I am going to spoil that man when I'm back on my feet again.  He definitely deserves a lot of spoiling!  I am very thankful for him because I don't know how we would have gotten through all this illness without him.

My boys both had birthdays last week.  My oldest turned 23 and we didn't actually celebrate his birthday on his birthday as he was finishing up school, was sick, and wanted to enjoy his birthday celebration.  We are planning on celebrating tomorrow if he's not too tired.  My youngest turned 21 and we did celebrate on his birthday, but he was still sick so I'm not sure that he enjoyed it as much as he could have.  We did play a little Wii archery, bowling and ping-pong but we were pretty tired when we got through.  I just can't believe my sons are this old - it really does seem like yesterday when they were just tiny babies or toddlers.

It has been so Spring-like here which has allowed us to open the doors and windows to air out our house.  I also saw my first Robin of Spring the other day from the window - hopping around searching for bugs.  I love Robins and it makes me SO happy to see them in my yard.  We didn't have them here for years, but over time, and my husband's devoted tree planting every year, we have many species of birds here and I love it!  Unfortunately, we are supposed to get snow tomorrow and the weather has turned icey cold and we are all bundled up with the heat on again.  My poor fruit trees, will once again this year, get their little buds frozen and we will probably have no fruit.  Such a disappointment.

I'm sorry I don't have something wonderfully exciting to share.  I am hoping to get back to writing here daily again and sharing some of the things I've been wanting to share.  I will tell you that I'm going to be reviewing a wonderful book this week and will be giving away a copy of this book to someone, so be watching for that.  Again, thank you for your many sweet comments, emails and prayers.  They all mean so much to me and my family!

God bless you - Julie

  2. It took us three weeks to get rid of it, too. Even last Sunday, I was feeling weak. I hope this is the end of it for you and me both!
