MY REVIEW:
I have read all the "Yaya" books and they have always been wonderful, funny, inspiring, and exciting. I was very excited to read this latest installment to the series. This book was good, however, it was not up to the standard of the other books in the series. I actually had a hard time getting through the book where in the past Yaya books, I could barely put them down.
I think it was because this was a sadder story and the heroine of the story was not as likable as the past characters. There was also some inconsistencies to the story, as far as I was concerned. For instance, why did Lucy not go by her married name when she loved her husband so much? That didn't make any sense to me at all, other than it had to be written that way to make the story come together. There were other things like this that made me question the story. Although the story was good in many ways, it wasn't great like the past Yaya books, in my humble opinion. If you like the Yaya books, you will still want to read this book because it is a Yaya book, but be prepared that it will not be the same as the other books.
