Counting Our Blessings - Link Up!

It's a New Year! I'm praying that 2014 will be a wonderful year full of blessings and that I will be getting healthy and whole this year. I have been working on my goals for this year (yes, I'm still working on them) and trying to figure out what I want to do without putting too much pressure on myself. I think that's a real problem - creating goals (or resolutions) that are too much or unrealistic and then we set ourselves up for failure. I've been there and done that. I don't want to do that this year.

Let's get started on the blessings for 2014!

1. As I shared before, we had a wonderful Christmas. It was low-key but so much fun. My little family and I were so blessed to be together and I never take this blessing for granted. Here's a couple of pictures we took. The first one is of my sons...

and here's one of my hubby and me with my little Yorkie, Holly.

2.  I just adore my dogs and they are very important to me. They bless me so much with their companionship and love. I took this picture of Cookie at Christmas. She's our adorable poodle and I just love her sweet eyes and face. She was wearing her cute, little Christmas shirt here.

This picture of Holly, my Yorkie, is just her personality to a tee. She's such a cutie and has become my little buddy since I've had her. She's such a blessing! Don't you love this picture?

3.  I don't know if I've shared that I love classic movies. There have been so many wonderful drama, film noir, movies on TCM lately. I watch these old movies and I see the wonderful glamor and the story lines that have class about them. In the old movies, you rarely see anything that makes you cringe and that, to me, is entertainment. When I need to escape, old, classic movies just bless me.

4.  We still have our Christmas decorations up (hopefully, that doesn't shock anyone). I just haven't had the heart to put them away yet. My family is still enjoying the lit tree and, when we're ready, we'll take it all down. There's something so blessed about the Christmas season (I know it's Jesus) that I just haven't wanted to put it all away yet.

5.  This brings me to the greatest blessing of all - every day, every hour, every minute, and that's Jesus. He is my everything and I don't know what I would do without Him. Thankfully, I never have to know because He is always with me and I'm so thankful!

What are your blessings? Please grab my button (you can find it on the "Grab My Button Page" at the top) and link up with me. I'm so looking forward to reading about your blessings this year and am so thankful for you all.

  1. Handsome sons Julie!! Beautiful family you have including the furry ones :) I still have my decorations up too, planning on putting everything away tomorrow since we are snowed it. But I love Christmas too, everything about it. Especially having My Three Sons home with me for a while. But, like you, knowing Jesus means everything, simply everything!! We are blessed if we have Him in our lives! Thank you for your post, it was a blessing. ♥

  2. I put away the smaller decorations, but not the tree or nativity. I too am blessed that our family is still together. And I too just love the stuffin' out of our two toy poodles. And I too love the Lord.♥

  3. Our Christmas decor is still up. The Christmas season is still ongoing for some. Some say it ends on Epiphany, some the Baptism. Happy blessed new year!

  4. Thank you for sharing the pictures! Your sons are very handsome and your family's smiles reflect the blessings in your lives. My decorations are all down...except for my sons' tree...it is still up with all their ornaments that they have been accumulating over the years. I haven't have the heart to put that one away yet. Blessings in 2014 and always!
