Hot, hot, hot!!

It was so nice here for about 2 weeks. Nice rain every day that cooled things down. Now it's really hot and the only good thing I can say about it is, it's not humid. I'm so ready for Autumn!! That's my favorite time of year anyway, so I always look forward to it and am sad when it's gone.

I have been crocheting on my baby blanket. It's such a fun and easy pattern. I love to crochet and do other needlework. I've been crocheting since I was four years old. My grandmother taught me how to make a hot-pad using a wash cloth and crochet thread. Her theory was if I could accomplish this, I would be able to crochet using anything, and she was right!! I'm very thankful that my Grandmother took the time to teach me.

We've been going to the doctors again like crazy. My hubby went Monday to his urologist and he will have to have another surgery. Poor guy. I just hope this one is successful and he won't have to do it again. He went to the regular doctor yesterday, I took my mother-in-law today and I go tomorrow. Next Tuesday, I will be going in for a procedure to the surgical center. *sigh* I'm really tired of all this. We've been going through so much since my cancer and my hubby's cancer. I'm praising the Lord, though, that we are cancer free!!!

I am getting my curriculum together for my son's 11th year. We homeschool and this year is going to be so great. My oldest son graduated last June and is now in college. He's doing great! We are proud of both our sons and the great young men they have become. They both love the Lord and that's the most important thing.

  1. It's hot here, and we DO have the humidity to go along with the heat!

I need to get busy crocheting, but it's so hot I don't even want to think about holding that hot stuff on my lap. I've got until next March for the baby afghan I'm going to make, so I should have plenty of time to get it done after it cools off. ;0)

Hope all your doctor visits and surgeries turn out okay.

Have a great Friday and weekend. :-)

    Hugs,

    Diane

  2. I am praising Him with you. I know that the doctor's appointments can be very bothersome, but it is wonderful to read that you both have been cancer free...May the Lord continue to protect you.

How awesome that you home-schooled both of your boys all the way :)

Thank you so much for stopping by today and leaving a comment at Sting my Heart.

    Blessings to you and yours.

  4. It has been very hot here also. The humidity makes it worse. Yesterday it was 98 and the heat index was 107. That is too hot.

We have not began our crochet projects. That will come in September.

I would like to home school my youngest. However, he is autistic and I want him to have the social contact and the therapies the school system offers him. He will be in kindergaten this year.

He is not potty trained all the way yet. I really do not think it is a good idea for him to go. I am frightend. I think my twins are ready to go back.

I have never used a pattern for my projects, I would just learn a new stitch and make things up on my own. I still do that. I picture it in my mind and make it. The main problem I end up have is on courners and changing colors. Hubby taught me how to change color nicer, with out leaving evedance like a knot. He is really good at it. He crochets very nicely.

One of my sisters and her child are both cancer survivors. God has and will continue to bless you. I am so happy you are both cancer free.
