30 Thankul Days

Even though I haven't posted every day on my blog for 30 thankful days, believe me, I've been thankful! I've had some pain filled days but, thankfully, I'm feeling better the past couple of days.

I know I shared that my birthday was last week but because my son had to work, I decided I wanted to celebrate on Friday. We had a lovely day! My family took me to Red Lobster where I had yummy lobster and shrimp. The waitress staff came and sang, "Happy Birthday" to me and brought me a little ice cream sundae. They even gave me a birthday card they all signed! It was so nice!

We then went over to Target and I found a few things in the "Dollar Spot" including this adorable dress for our pug.

It was only $3.00 and the best thing is, Muffy likes wearing it. She usually doesn't like clothing but this is very light weight and she was just prancing around with it on. It was so cute! She is 13 years old and still going strong, thank goodness!!

I got some lovely presents for my birthday! I had seen these cute little things at Walmart when I was with my hubby and he surprised me with them. They are for Christmas and they light up. I thought they were very unusual and was thrilled when I opened my gifts.

Then my sons surprised me with this beautiful nativity set I had looked at.

I love this because each piece has a Scripture written on it about Jesus. It's just beautiful and I was so surprised to receive it!

I had such a lovely birthday! I'm so thankful for each and every day that the Lord gives me and how He blesses me so much with such a wonderful family.

30 Thankful Days

Today I'm going to focus on another family member that blesses me and that I'm thankful for! I have one sister and she is always there for me. We are ten years apart but are very close. As you get older, those years really don't matter, and we are sisters as well as friends!

She understands my ups and downs with my health issues and never judges me for them. I can pick up the phone and talk to her any time and she is there for me. She was there for me when I got flown to the big hospital with my cut artery and has been there any time I've needed to share my heart.

Everyone should have a sister like mine! I am so thankful for her!!

30 Thankful Days

Today is my birthday and I am thankful for another year with my family! I have always believed what Paul said in Philippians 1:21, "For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain." and I don't fear death or look at it as a horrible thing but I am thankful for the time with my family and to do whatever it is that God wants me to do.  So thankful for all He provides and gives in this life and in the next!

30 Thankful Days

I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family! Today I'm going to focus on my oldest son who has been a rock for me through some of my darkest days. He's always really understanding about my emotional mood swings through the health issues and has a kind word to say. He's a super cheerleader in encouraging me and I am so thankful for him.

I am so blessed...and thankful! What are you thankful for today?

30 Thankful Days

With this cold weather that has set in, I've just been exhausted! My whole family is feeling the affects of it, but my youngest son and I are especially feeling it with our bad backs. The cold sets into the bones and just torments! I'm so thankful for afternoon naps under warm blankets!

I was going through my pictures and found this adorable picture of my son and Mitzi.

Look at that face! I love how my son is cuddling her...such a precious picture!

I'm so thankful to my son, too! He does so much for me and it was during this time that he was taking me 100 miles every week to have my wounds looked at. That trip got so old! He never complained and he still doesn't. He has done so much for me and I can't even describe how much he means to me. He's my youngest and will always be my baby! We have a lot in common and our personalities are very much alike. I can usually always tell what he's thinking and he does the same with me. It's nice to have someone that really understands me! :)

I am so thankful for these two!

30 Thankful Days

It snowed today! I think I had been lulled into thinking that we would have the crisp days of Autumn forever. I looked out the window and was shocked to see snow! It didn't really stick to the ground but it certainly brought the temperatures down!

I am very thankful to live in an area with the four seasons but none of those seasons is horribly harsh!

30 Thankful Days

We had rain all day today and it has suddenly turned quite cold! I've been in my warm pajamas all day and have napped off and on. This morning, Mitzi was quite restless and if I'm really tired, my hubs will come let her out if I text him (I told you he was great, didn't I?). He's a early riser and I'm not so he's always willing to let that little girl out in the mornings when I'm tired. Anyway, I was so tired, I wanted to sleep longer so grabbed my phone to text him, looked at the time and about passed out! It was 12:13 pm! Yes, afternoon! I decided it was time to get up and took her out myself. I understood why that little girl was so restless! She really needed to go out and it was so late! I still felt tired and my hubby did, too. I don't know if it's the change in weather or what but I'm hoping tomorrow is better in the tired department! I will say that I am so thankful that I can sleep if I need to!

This is day 3 of being thankful and here's what I'm the most thankful for.

The Word of God! This is my Bible and I love it and am so thankful for it! This is a fairly new Bible and it's the Holman Christian Study Bible in color. It's just amazing. I love all the colored maps, charts and information throughout this Bible. I also like this translation and researched about it before I bought it. It's the closest to the original Hebrew, Arabic, and Greek, which was important to me.

My time spent in God's Word is so refreshing and I'm thankful that I can have peace because of my salvation in Christ. There's nothing better!

30 Thankful Days

It's been such a long day and I am really glad that I can sit down here and focus on being thankful. It really helps me to let the cares of the day fall to the side while I focus on the good.

I am so thankful for my husband. He has gone way above and beyond the call of duty in caring for me over the past year and 9 months. He has been patient when I have been less than kind in my attitude. He has understood that I'm hurting and gives me allowances that I don't deserve. He has taken over some of the household duties because he knows I can't do them. He even does the grocery shopping (which I loathe) and I know he doesn't like doing it anymore than I do, but he never complains. I've been very blessed for 34 years being with my husband. Here's some pictures from throughout the years.

So thankful for so many happy years!

30 Thankful Days

For November, I'm going to focus on being thankful! There is so much to be thankful for and I am hoping you'll join me in this thankful journey. I'm going to use the hashtag #30ThankfulDays on Twitter and Facebook and if you'd like to join in, just use that on your social media. There are others using this hashtag, too, but it's all about thankfulness so it's all good!

I'm sharing a picture of something I'm very thankful for and I'll bet you'll be shocked!

She is such a sweetheart and just makes me feel so joyful and thankful! Miss Mitzi is a delight and makes me thankful every day that I have her as my little fur baby!

What are you thankful for?

Blessings - Julie
