Summertime

I've spent the week recovering from that horrible trip to and from California I made last Friday and Saturday. Honestly, I never want to do that again.

I've been working on hubby's website a lot and getting his office all organized. It's still not the way I think it should be, but we're getting close, folks, and that's a terrific feeling! I actually have a bit more work to do on the website, but honestly, that's an on-going project anyway and really requires some kind of maintenance most every day.

I'm SO happy. Today I saw my beloved Quail. We have a mated pair that showed up last summer and I've been watching and praying they would return. I saw them this morning under the huge Cottonwood tree. We have lots of iris planted around our trees, so this gives them the protection they crave and I'm just beyond thrilled that they chose to return. At night, they nest in the Chinese Elm tree outside my bedroom window and I love to sit and watch them. They also make these incredible sounds and now that I know they are back, I'll be listening for them as well.

I'm still working on my counted cross stitch and I'm thinking of pulling out the felt Christmas stocking I've almost finished and getting that done. I'm also missing my crochet so I may have to do a thread doily or something like that. The thread won't heat me up like the yarn will.

We are in summer mode for our homeschooling now. We do school throughout the year. It really became necessary when we started having the health problems starting in 2005. Hubby and I were discussing that we've had major operations the past three years. Hopefully, this trend will not continue! Anyway, we will continue with the math work and reading, but are going to do some essay writing, our Drive Thru History America, our Bible Study and our Christian Manhood book. This is a bit lighter than our normal routine, but includes all the vital things.

That's about it in my neck of the woods. Hope you're all doing good. Thanks for all the encouraging comments and just general sweetness you all bring into my life!!

God bless you ~ Julie
