Counting Our Blessings - Link Up!

It's been a rather stressful week! I'm still battling some kind of stomach issue. To not get too specific, I'm having to take Imodium (so you get my drift...) and there's no rhyme or reason to why I'm having these issues. I don't feel sick, but I'm definitely having some achy, intestinal issues. I hope this isn't too much information! The weird thing is, my youngest son is having the same issue. So we're thinking a food or environmental issue? I don't know. I just know after 2 months of this, I'm ready for it to stop. I seem to have the problems worse than my son, but maybe that's because I'm a lot older than him! lol I had an appointment with my doctor, but with all these insurance changes, she wasn't on my insurance any longer and my appointment got cancelled. Anyway, after all these complaints, it really is time to count my blessings!

191. As I shared on Sunday, I ran into an old friend last week I hadn't seen in probably 14 years! It was such a huge blessing to see her and to know that we can re-connect again. God is so good!

192. My son helped me get the lights in the wooden tree that I finished painting. I was going to put them in myself, but the holes were too small! The way the holes were cut, he had to really be careful with re-drilling but he is such a good craftsman. I'm so blessed to have such a talented and handy son. Here's a picture of the tree with the lights. Isn't it cute?

193. I went back to my medical supplier and was able to exchange my sleep apnea mask. Here's what I got

I slept with it for the first time last night and what a huge difference! No air in the eyes, no waking up trying to adjust it - just sweet sleep all night long! I'm so thankful to Kathleen over at Lane Hill House who took the time to leave a comment on my blog Sunday and give me some help on this issue. It was incredibly helpful and I was so blessed that she took the time to do that! Thank you, Kathleen! This is definitely a double blessing - new mask that works and help from a new friend!

194. I have been meaning to share this for a few weeks now. I finally finished my little cross stitch basket and I love it! I had waited so long to do the little fobs because, frankly, I was afraid to cut the fabric! lol I finally got the courage and did it and I'm really happy with how it came out. Here's a picture of the fobs on one side

On the fob with the basket of flowers, I put my initials on the back side.

Then, finally, a picture of the whole thing with the fobs hanging down on the ribbons, like they are supposed to.

I really wrestled with getting this project at the cross stitch store because of how expensive it was, but I'm so happy with it and it's so unusual and I know I'll always treasure it. It's a great little basket for keeping little things as I'm stitching. I'm blessed to have finished this!

195. Now for my final blessings (announcement). Yesterday, I went to an orthopedic surgeon about my knees. My pain management doctor wanted me to go and see what he would say. I was shocked when he came in, after looking at my x-rays, and said, "You need knee replacements. Do you want to do both or one?" I was shocked. I've been needing knee replacements for years but had basically given up. I said I wanted both. Both knees are SO bad. I looked at the x-rays and I have no joint left. My bones are sitting on top of each other and my knee caps are basically gone. Arthritis really tears up the bones, doesn't it? I'm really considering going for getting both knees done at the same time. Yes, I know it will be difficult and I'm not crazy about having to go to a rehabilitation center for a week after the surgery, but on the other hand, they will both be done and I won't have to go through 2 surgeries. I'm still praying about it, but right now, that's what I'm thinking. Have any of you had knee replacement surgery? What was your experience? (Oh, please, no horror stories!) This was a blessing but I'm still in shock and getting used to the idea of another big surgery in my life.
