Stressed By Mistakes

It's been a stressful week and the last 24 hours have just about done me in! As you know, I got diverticulitis Monday and, thankfully, I'm pretty much over it. Then yesterday, they called me from the hospital to go over everything and as part of the questions, they asked what I was having done. I said bi-lateral knee replacements. She hesitated and said, "You're having both knees done?" Ummm... Yeah. She said that she had only my right knee and needed to get ahold of my doctor. She also said that they would have to reschedule the surgery more than likely because of the time to do both. It was 4:30 when we talked so, of course, the girl she needed to talk to already went home. I then called my doctors office and they told me they had my surgery for my left knee! Oh, my gosh...seriously?

I spent a sleepless night fretting about all this. One hour sleep. I had to go to my GP to get released for my diverticulitis  and I asked her about it and her order said bi-lateral. She told me to get in touch with the surgeon right away.  While I was in there, I got a call from the girl that scheduled all this (and did all this paperwork wrong) and at first she was defensive, but then I reminded her that none of this was my fault. I also told her that my older son is taking off work to be there for me. She said, "Let me see if I can get someone to change on that day." So I waited. Finally, she called me while I was in Walmart and said she spoke with my surgeon and he was going to go ahead and do my surgery first and then he could do them both and on the 28th as scheduled. She apologized profusely for this whole thing and that really made me feel better. It made it so much easier to just forgive her and move on. Hallelujah!! It's going to be a long surgery, 5 - 6 hours, but I'm so relieved that we're going forward! I have had to really psych myself up and to have to do that again, was just too much. I'm so thankful to God for working this all out!
I did call the rehab hospital I want to go to and they are going to work with my insurance to get me in there. That's my next prayer request. It's the best rehab hospital and I know they will really help me to get back on my feet, literally! lol I'm praying that God will work this all out, too.

Thank you all so much for your prayers! I'm so thankful for your sweet comments and prayers. It really does make a difference!

Blessings - Julie
