Book Review - The 500 Hats of a Modern Day Woman

ABOUT THE BOOK:

Strength for Today's Demanding Roles
In The 500 Hats of a Modern-Day Woman you'll find strength, purpose, and perspective to balance your many roles-and gain insight into the roles of women around you. With honesty, humor, and practicality, Joyce Ellis helps you see how your roles can fit together to make a difference in your world. Questions for reflection or discussion at the end of each chapter make this book suitable for book clubs and small-group Bible studies as well.

MY REVIEW:

This is a very helpful book for any woman in during any period of her life. We are always so busy with our jobs outside the home, inside the home, with children, aging parents, etc., etc.! It really is as if we are wearing so many hats and having to be in one role or another. It can be exhausting.

What I really liked about this book is that the author gives us insight to how to handle the different aspects of our life and she also tells us it's okay to say "no" to those things that don't fit into our lives. I liked that she used Biblical perspective and used Scripture to help us not only help us in our demanding roles, but to guide us as well.

Each chapter also has a resource section (which I thought was a great addition!) as well as questions to answer and then a final important question that we can ask ourselves in order to really get things in perspective and slow down a bit.

Sometimes as women, we feel we must do it all or we have so much on our plates that we can feel overwhelmed. This book really helped me to figure out what is really important and then to come up with a plan to put it all together without feeling exhausted or overwhelmed.

It's a great book that I give 4 out of 5 stars. You'll enjoy this book as it really is full of resources and wisdom.
