What would you do if you found out your murdered husband
had been keeping life-threatening secrets from you? Book two,
Distortion, in Terri Blackstock's The Moonlighter series will keep you
on the edge of you seat until the very end.
Juliet Cole's life has been
dismantled by the murder of her husband. She doesn't know who---or what---to
trust when everything she has believed to be true about her marriage has been a
lie.
When Juliet Cole's husband of fifteen years is murdered before her eyes, she thinks it was a random shooting. Devastated and traumatized, she answers hours of questioning, then returns home to break the tragic news to her boys. But a threatening voicemail takes this from a random shooting to a planned, deliberate attack.

MY REVIEW:
I have read many, many Terri Blackstock books and I have never been disappointed. Her books are riveting and this book is no exception and is one of her best, in my opinion.
The story is one that would be any wife's nightmare...to have your husband killed in front of you and then find out that he was not the man you thought he was! The disbelief and the horror Juliet feels as she tries to understand all this is so real and that's one of the things I love about Terri's books. She makes us feel what her characters are feeling!
The great thing about this book, too, is that you're not sure who the bad guys are and there are so many twists and turns. You'll be staying up way past your bedtime because it's one of those books that you simply can't put down! I love all the suspense and the revelations that come out. Just when you think you've turned down one road, you're taken down a completely different road!
I also loved the family dynamics between Juliet and her two sons as all this unfolds. This, too, was so realistic and you could really feel all the various emotions that are running wild as they find out more and more about their dad and her husband. The secrets threaten to tear them apart as they keep coming out.
I just loved this book. It had all the elements of a good mystery and so many twists and turns, you'll think you're driving the Grand Prix! With Terri Blackstock's novels, you also will be left thinking about what you've read as she is a very deep writer, yet not so over your head that you aren't totally entertained.
This is a definite 5 out of 5 star book and I hope you'll buy yourself a copy right away! You won't be sorry!
