Cross Stitching Update

I have finally been able to concentrate enough to do my beloved cross stitch. I don't know if I've shared this, but I only do cross stitch for myself. Everything I've ever created has usually been given away - paintings, crochet work, etc., etc., but my cross stitch is something I do for my home and myself. I'm so glad I can work on it again as it brings me such joy and peace!

I finally finished "He is Risen"!! When I sat down to finish it, I didn't realize how close to being done I was! So here it is - all finished...

I need to press it and then I want to find a beautiful frame for it. I'm going to hang it in my family room as the colors will be perfect for that room. I just love this piece and am so glad to have it done. The only change I did was to not put the french knots for the mouth on the angels. I thought they were a bit too much for my taste and so just did the french knot eyes. This was a joy to stitch and I'm so glad to have finished it.

Now I've started this new piece. It's a huge, huge project with many threads and thread changes. It's a rather nice change for me to work on and I am so excited to pull it out and work on it. Here's my progress so far

It's a Christmas scene and it was actually a kit I bought. I don't do kits often, but this one just caught my eye and I knew I had to do it.

I'm sure I'll need a break here and there from this huge project so have a couple smalls at the ready to work on as I feel the need. One is a wooden key chain that came in my latest issue of my British cross stitch magazine and one is a Christmas ornament. Right now, though, I'm really enjoying this huge project!

Blessings - Julie
