Mother's Day Gifts & Fun Purchases!

*This post was written and scheduled to post on this date and it was before my infection. I just didn't want you all to think I was out running around with an infection - believe me - I'm either in bed or my recliner trying to recover.*

For Mother's Day, my sweet hubby gave me the most beautiful card and some money so I could get things that I want or need at Hobby Lobby (my favorite craft store!). He also gave me this beautiful picture that I just love and really speaks of how the Lord has watched over me and blessed me through this whole surgery ordeal.

I just love this because of the Scripture, but also because it has a bird on it. I absolutely love birds and have a lot of them in my house plus I enjoy watching them outside at my feeders. It's such a beautiful gift and means so much to me because my hubby picked it out just for me.

After my wound care appointment, hubby took me to Hobby Lobby because I needed another skein of yarn to finish the shawl I've been working on. He was so sweet to push me around in the wheel chair with the basket they have there as he didn't want me to walk around that huge store and get tired out. I do have to wonder here why Hobby Lobby doesn't provide the electric carts like they do at WalMart and Joann's Craft stores. It's a huge store and it would really be nice if they did have a few of the electric carts! Anyway, I digress.

We went back to the needlework area and I picked up my yarn and then we looked around Of course, I found a few things I just had to have and I did have my Mother's Day money with me so I was able to get some things I wanted. First of all, I found this wonderful skein of thread in a verigated blue. I have been longing to make a doily again and thought this would be a great color for my living room.

It's kind of hard to see all the different colors in it, but trust me, it's beautiful!

I then found this cute, little tin needle case. I'm going to put a magnet inside so that the needles don't move around in there. It will even hold a very small pair of scissors that I have. Don't you just love the pattern on the case?

Hubby then took me over to the clearance aisle and I found this set of knitting needles. I have been wanting this size for awhile and they were half price! I really like working with plastic knitting needles because they bend a bit when I work with them and my arthritic hands.

Finally, I got this darling little bag! Now mind you - I didn't need another bag. Not at all, but this one is so cute and has so many pockets! Plus, I had my 40% off coupon and so I didn't pay full price, either! My hubby was so funny - I told him, "I know I don't need another bag. You probably think I'm so silly."  He said, "No, I understand - you're a girl!" LOL What a sweetie he is!

Isn't it just the cutest thing you've ever seen? I love the colors! The bottom opens up quite flat and so it's deceiving how much it will hold. It will be perfect for my crochet and knitting when I go to my different doctor and therapy appointments! I can also put my cell phone in there and I have everything I need. :)

What a fun time I had and it was so nice of my husband to push me around so I wouldn't get too tired. I truly am one blessed lady!

Blessings - Julie
