Book Review - God, Me and Sweet Iced Tea

ABOUT THE BOOK:

Life is full of challenges that keep us from spending time with God, and hinder us from discovering his presence in our day-to-day activities. But He is always there, ready to pour out His blessings. If you desire to experience the reality of God in the everyday moments of life, this devotional journey is for you. God, Me, and Sweet Iced Tea will help you find the strength you need to weather every storm and experience new mercies every day.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Rose Chandler Johnson, a Southern girl from a tiny Georgia town, is the author of the devotional blog, Write Moments with God. In spite of years of disappointments and overwhelming obstacles, she has grown in her relationship with the Lord and learned how to find Him in the everyday moments of life. A devoted Christian and mother of six, she has been a French and English teacher over the last twenty years.

MY REVIEW:

This is a wonderful devotional book that I enjoyed so much. This book is like sitting with the author, on her front porch, while she shares her heart and her love of God.

Each devotion starts with a Scripture and then Rose shares something special, usually something from her own life, that makes you think more deeply about your own relationship with God. After each devotion, there are several suggested Scriptures that further enhance whats she is sharing. I really like that she provides a question and an area to write our own thoughts for her "Journaling Considerations". There is then a prayer and a prayer focus. My favorite part, though, is "Today's Sweet Tea Moment" - this is just a little thought that really reminds you of God's love and His promises. I loved this because it really helped me to remember and put into my mind what I had read in a very concise and real way.

I have enjoyed this book so much and gained so much insight to God's Word. I just love the way Rose's sweet heart just shines through each and every word. I came away joyful and hopeful after each and every devotion and Scriptures! I highly recommend this book and give it 5 out of 5 stars.
