Book Review - Truth and Daring, A Journal for the Thoughtful and Bold

ABOUT THE BOOK:

A journal for the curious and introspective, adventurous and bold, Truth & Daring challenges you to pair self-reflection with action through questions, writing prompts, and inspiring quotes that focus on digging deep and trying new things. It’s the classic game, Truth or Dare, with a modern twist that turns the challenges inward. Discover the spark of true self-discovery and embrace the confidence that comes when you look below the surface and push yourself just a little beyond your comfort zone.

How does it work?

Every left-hand page features a Truth prompt, inviting readers to reflect on their life. Every right-hand page features a Dare prompt—and sometimes a Double Dare—inviting readers to take action in their lives. Eight tear-out pages, feature beautifully illustrated and hand-lettered quotes from inspiring feminist icons that can be hung on a wall or mirror for daily inspiration.

It takes grit and courage to find your truth. They go hand-in-hand. So open these pages and go for it! It’s your turn to choose both truth and daring.

MY REVIEW:

I love guided journals and this one was especially fun and insightful!

This is a really fun book, with bold graphics and great colors - teal and peach - on the inside and out. There are truth and dare questions for you to go through and they really make you stop and think. It goes into lots of topics like stress, friendship, habits and more. She asks a truthful question about how you feel about something and then the dare is to perhaps think differently about that topic or to take it further in your thinking. I liked the really thoughtful questions that made me pause and think.

Included in this book are beautiful full page graphics with encouraging quotes. These are perforated so you can remove them from the book for framing. I loved them all but my favorite is "Make the most of yourself by fanning the tiny sparks of possibility into flames of achievement." by Golda Meir. These are so inspiring and I love that they are little pieces of art to enjoy!

I am enjoying this journal so much and I think you'll love it, too! It would be a great gift for anyone - think graduation or birthday. It's an excellent gift to give yourself, too! I give this book 5 stars.
