Book Review - Prevail by Susie Larson

ABOUT THE BOOK:

God Is Your Shield and Strength!

Scripture is God's love letter to us. Every promise He makes, He keeps. Everything He asks of us, He redeems. Yet still, life is hard. Sometimes we drift from what's true and we let our guard down. We have a very real enemy who looks for such opportunities. But we serve a very real God who draws us back to himself time and time again. He's equipped us to prevail--to prove that our enemy will not conquer us. When this war is over, through Christ, we're the ones who'll still be standing.

In Prevail, Susie Larson guides you through the arc of the entire Word of God. Using powerful Scripture passages, thought-provoking questions, and practical steps for applying what you've learned, Susie offers 365 days' worth of opportunities for you to know God's Word, experience His presence, hear His voice, and do what He says so that you may finish your race faithfully and joyfully.

MY REVIEW:

This is my new favorite devotional.  I love how it's divided into sections on different topics that you can focus on or go day by day. The other thing I like is it's not dated - it's organized by day 1, day 2, etc., which I do better with, rather than dates. I always feel I need to go by the date and, if I skip a day, it causes me anxiety. This devotional lets you do it day by day, on your terms without guilt.

At the beginning of the book, you can see all the different topics. For instance, there's God Delights in You, Stay the Course, Worry, and so much more. If you're struggling with something, this is really helpful to go to that concern and read those devotionals and Scriptures.

Each devotional starts with a Scripture, a devotional on that Scripture, then a Learn section where you read the Scripture regarding this devotional in length. I like this a lot as it encourages reading the Scripture in context and digging deeper into Scripture. Then there's a statement regarding what we've read and finally a lovely prayer prompt.

I find this devotional to be so much more in depth than some and it's been very encouraging to me. I think you'll like this devotional, too, and I highly recommend it. I give it 5 stars.
