Why is it so hard for me to remember that God is in control and not me?!! Why is it so hard for me to remember that if I keep my eyes on Jesus, He will make all situations work out for my very good? Oh, that I would remember that!!
As I said in my last post, I had a traumatic day on Tuesday. I got myself all upset and everything really worked out for the best. I lost sleep, stewed and simmered over the situation, and all the time the Lord had his hand over the whole thing. Silly me!
Today has been good. I've been organizing my homeschooling area and purging things I don't need anymore. With my oldest in college now, I only have my youngest son to homeschool and he is a junior so I don't need a lot of the things I've hung onto for so many years. I really, really need to get through my huge stack of magazines and donate them to someone else. They are taking over the living room and my bedroom and it's time to let them go. The older I get, the more I want to live simply. I don't want to spend my days dusting nic-nacs and trying to find places for stuff. I don't need more stuff and I don't want more stuff!!
I went to Curves this afternoon for my workout and met a really nice lady that works there. We got to talking about our churches and I think she's going to come to mine. She definitely wants to come to the ladies bible study they are having this fall. I can't wait - it's going to be the Beth Moore bible study on David. Any other Beth Moore fans out there? I just love her studies and she is so "right on" biblically!!
Tonights dinner is going to be really simple. Fish patties, seasoned mashed potatoes and broccoli. Nothing fancy, but yummy, nonetheless!

Beth Moore is one of my favorite teachers of the Word for women. I have done all of her studies (some more than once) except her newest study on Daniel, which I will be taking in the fall. Beth and her daughter Amanda have a blog: The LPM Blog that you might be interested in reading.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by Pollywog Creek and leaving a comment. I hope you will visit often. Like you, I am down to one homeschooler who will be a junior next year. My older boys have graduated from homeschooling, college, and are now married with little boys of their own. Time truly flies!
Hi, More of Him. Thanks for the comment you left on my blog. I love meeting new people in Blogville! I'll keep checking out your blog. Your poodle really attracted me to it. I grew up with poodles. My very own poodle lived for 14 years and he was my absolute favorite. He drove my parents crazy, but he was my best friend growing up. I now have two Bichon Frise dogs, which I've been raising for 4 years. I love Bichons too . . . they are a lot more relaxed than poodles, yet, they look similar. It sounds like you're a dog lover too--that's great! Have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for visiting. We had a great time with our kids and grandkids.
ReplyDeleteThis business of control is one the Lord has been working with me on for such a long time. I don't know why it is so difficult to simply trust. Who could be more trustworthy? I am so glad He is so infinitely patient!
