I've had a week I didn't plan for. I had company last Saturday (pics to be posted soon) and then that afternoon, I felt sick. I wasn't sure what it was - chalked it up to preparing for company and eating food we don't usually have around here. I went to bed early and hoped the next day I would feel good enough to get to church. That was not to be. I woke during the night with one of my migraines. I tried to take some meds for it, but it didn't touch it. The next day I laid in bed with my legs up, a comfort mask on my eyes and slept and slept and slept. The headache finally subsided a bit, but still lingered. It's been that way all week. I awake with a migraine during the night and then am just plain sick the next day with a headache and sick to my stomach. Plus, I'm still nursing my right knee. Have I said lately that it's pretty tough getting older? :(
Okay, enough of this. I hate this blog to always be about my latest aches and pains. Bleah. Who wants to hear about all that?
I've taken advantage of this time down, though, to read when I'm able. I have been reading some wonderful, wonderful books and those reviews will be coming soon. I have been so blessed to be reading such inspiring, Christian books - both fiction and non-fiction. I love feeding my soul with these books in addition to my Bible. It's wonderful to see other author's insight into the Word of the Lord.
I think I told you that I was doing my counted cross stitch using a stand now. Oh, my. What a huge, huge difference. (Again, pics soon!) I am flying through projects that I've been playing around with for years. Yes, years. I've set aside that other project I talked about for the time being to work on a project for Easter. I can't remember when I started this project, but it's been at least 5 years. I'm just flying through it. I haven't stitched much this week (for obvious reasons) but when I do, I make a huge dent. I'm really thinking I want to get that stand I can used in my recliner. It would be nice to have my knees up and stitching, too! :)
Have you been watching the Olympics? I'm an Olympics junkie. I admit it. I like both Summer and Winter Olympics, but have a huge fondness for the Winter - especially the ice skating. It's hard to believe (for those of you who know me) but I used to be quite the ice skater when I was young. I was blessed to have lessons for years and the last year I skated, I finally won a special award. That was a huge deal for me. I loved to skate and only wish I still could. I have wonderful memories of skating, though, and there is a season to all things, so I'm thankful I did get to skate for so many years. I loved seeing Lindsay Vonn win the gold!! What a moment - and her precious tears as she stood on the platform touched my heart. Have you noticed there aren't that many tears by the winners this year? I wonder why? If I were up there, I'd be blubbering my heart out! LOL
Hope you're all well and I will post those pics very soon!!
God bless you - Julie

I am so sorry that you have been under the weather. I bet you have had a flu bug. A sick headache for that long? I bet that it what it is. I love your enthusiasm about your cross stitching! How nice to have found a system to allow you to fly through your projects. That is the one thing about cross stitch...it takes forever. I have projects too...packed away for another day. Maybe someday I'll get them out and work on them.
ReplyDeleteYou will love the bagel recipe! The best bagels we have ever had...I really mean it. And filling. One fills us up for the whole morning. Brittany and I love onion bagels...i told her we can now make a whole batch of them. That recipe is a keeper. Thanks for your kind words and your visit to my blog. I always feel touched by yours as well. You are a creative, beautiful friend.
My joints are ok...my right elbow is still bothering me...I hurt my left wrist while shoveling snow...even to push the dishwasher closed I feel both of them. Drives me crazy! My knee has been pretty good but yesterday my sciatica really acted up...I am a bit better today...but it feel pretty touchy back there...every now and then I grab my Kindle and head for the floor to put my knees up...that give it relief.
Hope you are feeling better today!
(((Hugs)))

Sorry you have been feeling poorly. I would love to see your cross stitch stand. What are the advantages of using one.
ReplyDeleteI use to do quite a bit of cross stitch but haven't in a long time.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog! I've enjoyed perusing yours. :-) I'm so sorry for the headache... That was my lot last week as well, but mine was shoulder/neck/rib related. I do hope you'll feel better soon. Blessings!
