Book Review - Experiencing God At Home - Day By Day

ABOUT THE BOOK:

Experiencing God at Home Day by Day: A Family Devotional features 50 weeks of daily devotions the whole family does together, that takes them from Genesis to Revelations. Each devotion feature a passage of scripture, a parent connection section, a conversation starter and more. There are also special devotions for important family events like birthdays, holidays, and back-to-school. The book not only provides a basis for personal, daily family-time spent together in God's word, but aims to help parents to develop their own habit of seeking God in their lives.

MY REVIEW:

This is another wonderful and amazing book by Tom Blackaby and Rick Osborne. Experiencing God At Home Day-By-Day, will enrich your walk with God and bring your family closer together.

It is laid out wonderfully and is packed full of godly treasures! The first part of the book is instruction on how to use this little devotional. I found this incredibly helpful and it helped to enrich my study time as well as my prayer time. I love how the authors show you how to study the Bible, through this devotional.

This devotional is set up to do in a 52 weeks. There are devotionals for 6 days of the week and each one is short, yet in-depth. The devotional starts with a Scripture for you and your family to read. Next, you're given a "Quick Start" which is a short sentence and then a question to get things started with your family. After this, you're given a "Quest" that gives you a lot of information in a small paragraph. After this, you have the "Quiet Family Prayer" and then finally the "Quiet Time". I really liked how they set up the "Quiet Time" because there's something for younger children and then something for older children. So many times in devotionals for families, they forget about the older children and that they need something more engaging. Parents will definitely be engaged, too, because this is not a simple devotional, but a book that will make you long for a deeper relationship with the Lord.

If you're looking for something that will bring your family closer together and closer to God, this is definitely the book for you. I can't give it enough praise because it really does stand alone as a devotional. I highly, highly recommend this book!
