What's your mission?
God gave the assignment to His people thousands of years ago: to bring "lost sheep" back into the love and safety of His kingdom. He said to become a "Kingdom of Priests," and put God on display to show the world what He is like. It's still our task today. In this thirteenth volume of the That the World May Know ® film series, you'll glimpse the urgency and rewards of welcoming the strangers and prodigals the Lord longs to embrace. Discover the mission that can give your life - and the lives of those around you - greater meaning than you ever imagined.
Join renowned teacher and historian Ray Vander Laan as he guides you through the lands of the Bible. In each lesson, Vander Laan illuminates the historical, geographical, and cultural context of the sacred Scriptures. MY REVIEW:
Israel's Mission is volume 13 in the That the World May Know series. I had never seen this series before but was very excited to review this as I had heard of Mr. Ray Vander Laan and knew he was an excellent teacher. I was totally correct about that.
The DVD is divided into five sections:
a. Abraham and Sarah and the Three Strangers
b. Israel at Sinai
c. Jesus Renews the Mission
d. The Lost Son
e. The Seeking Father
The teaching is so inspiring you feel as though you've gone back in time and are right there as these events took place. The filming is done on location, which I loved, because it helped me to visualize what it was like when these things took place.
I learned so much! There is a companion book that goes along with this DVD and it is like doing an in-depth Bible study. It would be excellent as a small group study or as a study at church. Of course, doing it on your own is a most excellent idea, too! As a former homeschool Mom, I would have definitely used this resource in our homeschooling. My junior high/high school age children would have loved it.
I highly recommend this DVD. It kept my attention, I learned a tremendous amount and I love the setting. Just a great teaching all the way around! I give this 5 out of 5 stars
