Because of what he taught her, she has gathered her own traveling kingdom of outcasts deep in the desert, wielding an authority few have seen. But when her growing power threatens the rulers around her, they set out to crush all she loves, leaving her reeling as a slave once more. MY REVIEW:

This book is a continuation of Ted Dekker's A.D. 30, which I had the privilege of reviewing last year. I absolutely loved A.D. 30 and I feel just as strongly about A.D. 33! In my opinion, you do not have to have read the first book because Mr. Dekker brings you up to date in this book, but you will miss out on a lot if you don't read A.D. 30, so I definitely would read that!

You will instantly be transported into the world of Maviah, Judah and Saba. When this book opens we find Maviah in the desert with the Beduoin tribe. She is called the Queen of the Outcasts and is revered by those she meets. She has changed drastically since her encounter with Yeshua. She lives with strength, yet love. She has never been the same since she became a follower of Yeshua.

The man that Maviah loves is being held captive by the evil men that killed her baby. Her step-brother, Maliku, is a horrid man who betrayed their father. Kahil is the man who threw her baby to his death and he has formed an alliance with Maliku. The two of them have committed horrible atrocities and they are planning even more.

This book makes you feel as though you are living right there with Maviah. You feel the excitement and anticipation of each and every event. The greatest thing about this book, though, is how you feel like you get to know Yeshua (Jesus) in an even more intimate way. I have become a huge Ted Dekker fan because of his amazing writing. He gives personality to Jesus and shares His life and teachings in a way that really resonates. He never deviates from the Word of God, but makes Jesus seem like even more of a friend that I already believe Him to be.

I was on the edge of my seat throughout most of this book. It's such an exciting story yet also a story that brings you face to face with your faith and what you truly believe. It's hard to explains but that's the quality of Ted Dekker's writing.

I just can't say enough good things about this book! It's beyond superb and did not disappoint as the second book of A.D. 30. I highly anticipated the release of this book and was so thrilled with how is all continued and ended. This is definitely a must-read book and I give it 5 out of 5 stars.
